The woman, a former felon and prescription drug addict, who found work and love after years in prison.
In my years as a journalist, a reporter and writer, these are the people I’ve written about — the powerful and the powerless, the strivers and the dreamers.
Telling their stories and showing how they matter, how they fit in the story of our country and its deep-rooted problems and hard-won successes is what drives my reporting, writing and (when I’m lucky) my photography.
I’ve won awards for my work as a business and investigative reporter over the years. But I’m driven most by reporting that gives a voice to the powerless, holds those in power accountable and, ultimately, tells stories that challenge the way we think about each other and the world we live in. I strive every day to do just that.
Here you’ll find a blog of my roaming and roving, my portfolio and ways to contact me. I’m always looking for fun, interesting and meaningful work. Contact me if you’re interested, too.
