I’ve spent the last three days organizing. First the office. Now I can see the floor! All the piles? Shoved in the filing cabinets. All the books and magazines and catalogues and flyers and notes? Organized! On shelves and on bookcases and in recycling bins. Oh, I love an organized office. The clutter is gone!
But the most fascinating event has been spending about three days burning backup CDs of photos since 2002. Holy holy, people. Has this been an ordeal. But the most exciting thing is to see everything that has happened, all the people I’ve seen and places I’ve been and things I’ve learned. The perspective has been amazing, reassuring and so appropriate for the end of one of the hardest years of my life. But we’re about to start all over, aren’t we? I know that January 1 will be, for all intensive purposes, no different than December 31. But it feels different. All together, we’re about to wake up soon and have another calendar open. Days and weeks and months ahead full of possibility and opportunity and challenge and hope. Oh, hope. I’m ready!

Happy New Year, friend. I just found a polaroid of you and PH at Tomo from an Old New Year’s Eve past. This day makes me want to eat sushi with friends. I’ll try to scan it in and email it to you.
